Our popular, busy cafe overlooks the Bedford Channel in charming Fort Langley. We are proud of our gorgeous, modern, open-kitchen facility serving high-quality, made-to-order food and baked goods as well as a wide range of hot and cold beverages plus beer and wine. Lelem’ is owned by the Kwantlen First Nation and operated by its progressive and diverse business group, Seyem’ Qwantlen Business Group.

As our Culinary Manager you will be responsible for the overall operations for the back of house, purchasing food and stock, and ensuring the culinary team members are trained on proper food preparation and kitchen safety techniques. You will also play a key role in supporting our core values – Family/Unity/Character/Caring/Leadership/Culture/Strength.

In addition to your amazing culinary skills, you are a natural leader who enjoys coaching others. You also have the ability to develop a friendly rapport with everyone you meet, and consistently demonstrate a courteous demeanor – especially when you are under pressure. You have at least one year of experience working in a management capacity – ideally in the food service industry. You are a professional who appreciates the importance of being reliable and following through on commitments.

  • Valid FOODSAFE certification (please provide a copy with your application)
  • Clear written communication skills, as evidenced in your application (cover letter/email and resume)
  • Ability to communicate pertinent information using technology/email
  • Commitment to demonstrating cultural awareness and sensitivity at all times
  • Time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to capably operate a POS system and use MS Office software
  • WorldHost certification is an asset
